Introduction: Joel’s Prophecy
The scriptures clearly depict that as the period of time called the “Last Days” unfolds, there will be a great increase of “revelatory activity” occurring in the church across the face of the earth. Such a mighty move of God will be unprecedented in all of Church History. Let’s take a quick look at Joel’s prophecy.

Joel 2:28–29 states, “And it will come about after this that I will pour out My Spirit on all mankind; and your sons and daughters will prophesy, your old men will dream dreams, your young men will see visions. And even on the male and female servants I will pour out My Spirit in those days.”
It sounds as though there will be (and is) a great increase in the operation of the revelatory gifts of the Holy Spirit. It sounds like the supernatural ways of God will be restored in that hour. According to this widely read and quoted scripture, this outpouring of the Holy Spirit will be pretty far-reaching—even global in nature!

Notice that this Holy Spirit outpouring will take form in dreams and visions. Also, note to whom the Lord will profusely grant these graces: old and young; male and female; those bound and those free. This sounds pretty inclusive to me. Actually, I cannot think of one category of people left out of God’s End Time visitation of His great love!

The Discerner class consists of 12 powerful sessions broken into two parts—each with six lessons. The first part of the class will train you to receive divine revelation through ALL your spiritual senses. The second part will equip you to recognize and diffuse many common tactics of the enemy.
Part 1: Receiving Revelation
Lesson 1: Surrendering Your Senses to the Holy Spirit
Hebrews 5:14 is the cornerstone scripture for this entire series: “But solid food is for the mature, who because of practice have their senses trained to discern good and evil.” To what senses is the Word of God referring to? How do we practice our senses and have them trained? How do we discern good and evil? We will look at these questions and many more as we begin our journey together.
Lesson 2: Seeing—You Have More than One Set of Eyes
Sight is one of our primary senses. Ephesians 1:18–19a states, “I pray that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened, so that you will know what is the hope of His calling, what are the riches of the glory of His inheritance in the saints, and what is the surpassing greatness of His power toward us who believe.” You have eyes that are both Spiritual and Natural! How do you receive vision and increase in the seer anointing? We will investigate this realm in this exciting session.

Lesson 3: Hearing—The Sound of Many Rushing Waters
Hearing is another of the other primary senses. John, the beloved disciple of Jesus, was exiled on the Isle of Patmos. When in worship he saw the Lord and declared in Revelation 1:15, “His feet were like burnished bronze, when it has been made to glow in a furnace, and His voice was like the sound of many waters.” The voice of the Lord can take on many forms. There are countless ways He speaks to us. In this lesson, we will explore some these delightful and accessible ways of God.
Lesson 4: Feeling—From the Heart Flows the Issues of Life
The realm of touch or feelings is one of the most important senses. Proverbs 4:23 wonderfully teaches and warns us, “Watch over your heart with all diligence, for from it flow the springs of life.” You can experience the emotions of God. You can discern the inner motivations of a heart of a man or woman. You can feel the oppression over certain geographical regions. This session will give you much insight into the arena of discerning God’s Presence through the sense of feeling.
Lesson 5: Tasting, Smelling & Other Leadings
All five of our senses can be surrendered to the Holy Spirit and come under the anointing of God to discern both good and evil. This includes the senses of taste and smell as well. Have you ever had a “bad taste in your mouth?” Have you ever smelled or sensed the “fragrance of Christ?” Is this only metaphorical or are there literal examples of where this has happened? Remember, if God can use a donkey, he can speak however He wants! What are some of the other ways the Holy Spirit speaks?

Lesson 6: Knowing—The Sixth Sense
For me, it seems there is a sixth sense—what I call the realm of knowing. Sometimes you just know a thing. You do not know how you know, but you know that you know! At times this realm is referred to as having the “mind of Christ.” Daniel walked in divine insight. What does that mean? Is this available today as well? God wants us to Know Him and His Ways!
Part 2: Discerning Revelation
Lesson 7: Testing the Spirits—Don’t Believe Every Spirit
John the beloved told us to “test the spirits to see if they are of God.” In these Last Days, we must be alert and aware. In this teaching I will give key scriptural pointers on how to judge revelatory encounters, as well as some clear tests to see if spirits originate from God. While this session may be an eye-opener, you will come away with a spirit of faith (not fear) and learn to be an overcomer.
Lesson 8: The Spirit of Deception—Seductive and Manipulative
Building on the previous session, I will shine light on the spirit of deception by exposing it with the truth of God’s Word. Paul the apostle warned us that “in the Last Days some would depart from the faith due to seducing spirits.” You and your family can be forewarned and thus be forearmed to avoid these subtle and dangerous traps of the enemy. Together we’ll apply the spotlight of scripture to some of the doctrinal traps and excesses in our day.

Lesson 9: Exposing Demonic Influences—Setting the Captives Free
This session will give an overview of five specific demonic spirits and unveil their primary modes of operation: 1) the Religious Spirit, 2) the Political Spirit, 3) Leviathan, 4) Seduction and 5) the Spirit of Antichrist. Always remember, when you know the truth, the truth will set you free. Jesus came to set the captives free!
Lesson 10: Staying Out of Satan’s Traps—Wisdom to Avoid Common Pitfalls
Over the course of my own spiritual journey, I have learned a lifetime of valuable insights on spiritual warfare, prophetic ministry and intercession. If there is a Jezebel, there has to be an Ahab hiding somewhere! If there is a Deaf and Dumb Spirit, then it is vital to walk in the opposite spirit with “Sharpened Hearing and Higher Revelation.” In this session I’ll point out common pits or ruts to avoid and bring wisdom lessons to clearly and practically define the pathway of the righteous.
Lesson 11: Creating a Culture of Faith—Ingredients for a Safe House
How do we cultivate a culture or faith and not fear? This session will explore some protective principles and guidelines that keep us securely walking in the wisdom ways of God. Why is it important to stay rooted in community and not forsake assembling together? How is staying grounded in the Word of God essential to being effective in Receiving and Discerning Revelation? When an attack comes how do I overcome the enemy? I’ll answer these questions and give tips on employing the “Power of Proclamation” to be an overcomer in the Last Days.

Lesson 12: Revelation’s Ultimate Purpose—When the Word Becomes Flesh
Is the goal only to learn how to “Receive and Discern Revelation?” Or is there a greater goal and ultimate purpose for “The Discerner?” You can not only receive and give a word, but become a living epistle for all to read. We are called to incarnational Christianity, to know Jesus and become like Him! In this closing session I will pray an impartation over each attendee.
